TOP Week is the introduction week for all new students starting their studies at Tilburg University, Fontys, or Avans in September. It takes place from August 18 to August 22, 2025. During this week, you will help new students get to know the city of Tilburg and student life. As a TOP Mentor, you play a key role in ensuring that TOP Week is the best possible start for new students in Tilburg!
During TOP Week, you will be placed in a group of approximately 20 students. The groups are assigned based on the field of study, so you will guide a group of students who are studying a similar program to yours. Every year, around 4,500 students take over Tilburg at the end of August to participate in TOP Week.

What is TOP Week?
TOP Week is the introduction week for all new students starting their studies at Tilburg University, Fontys, or Avans in September. All new bachelor’s, (pre-)master’s, and exchange students are welcome to participate. During TOP Week, everything revolves around getting to know your fellow students, the city of Tilburg, and the vibrant student life in Tilburg.

Who organizes TOP (Winter) Week?
TOP (Winter) Week is organized by students, for students. The organization consists of a seven-member board that works year-round to organize two introduction weeks (in January and August). Additionally, from March to August, the board is supported by 13 committee members who work hard to create an unforgettable introduction week.
Is the entire program mandatory?
Nothing is mandatory, and everything is allowed this week—there are no compulsory activities. Of course, it’s more fun to participate in as much as possible!
Who can become a TOP Mentor?
All students who are not starting their first year at an educational institution in Tilburg can become a TOP Mentor!
When is TOP Week?
TOP Week will take place from August 18 to August 22, 2025.
What alcohol and drug policy does TOP apply?
TOP’s alcohol and drug policy fully complies with Dutch government regulations. This means that alcoholic beverages will not be sold or served to students under the age of 18. Additionally, drugs are strictly prohibited.
If you are caught using drugs, you will be excluded from all events, and we will report the incident to the police. In cases of severe or dangerous situations caused by drug use, we will follow the same procedure and call emergency services (112). You will not be arrested, as drug use is not entirely illegal in the Netherlands.
